second blog post

From where  I left off in "The Secret Life of Bees", the main character Lily Owens is now living with the calander bee keeping sisters May, June and August. Lily is starting to help with the beekeeping. A new character appears and his name is Zack, who helps with the beekeeping. Then some weeks later Zack and Lily go to get something from the store and Zack and his friends are making fun of some white folks. One kid throws a glass bottle at a white person. No one tells who throws the bottle and they all get sent to jail. Lily does not go to jail. May has a problem where she breaks down because of others problems and kills herself.
Pg 163:" the candle in the red glass beside the Mary Statue sill burned, looking like a tiny red heart in a cave of darkness, pulsing out light to the world"
Pg 100"The night seemed like an inkblot I had to figure out."
The writer uses imagery to create an aesthic effect by giving vivid images and describing something so ordinary in deatail and making it seem so unordinary.
